Be Smart with Your Money!
You have many years before you have to think about living on your own. So, while you’re still young, practice using your money in smart ways.
Here are some things you can do:
 Save
Save money any time you get some! If you get an allowance, always save part of it. If you get money as a gift, save some of it.
Remember to put any money that you saved in your credit union savings account!
Earn
If you have a chance to earn money, take it! Maybe your parents (or an older brother or sister) will pay you for doing extra chores. Ask them today!
Spend
Ask your parents if you can make some of your own decisions about how to spend your money. For a week or two, ask if you can decide what to spend your money on. At the end of those couple of weeks, think about how you did. Did you make good choices?
Learn
Do you know the difference between something that you need and something that you want?
Think about this: You need food so you can live. You want ice cream, because it tastes good! So something that you need helps you live, and something that you want, helps make your life more fun.
